Proper windy early doors today. Started with 4.2 and straight away after the first run had to whack on more down and outhaul. This left me maxed but in control but as the morning progressed the wind became more holey and by the end of the session 4.7 would have been the rig of choice. Not great conditions tbh - gusty chop bothering with no real waves to speak of. Tom and I thought about checking out the harbour wall but decided against as the trip up and (especially) downwind would have been very dodgy in the mental conditions out back. Turned out we made the right choice as Emile said later that the waves were shit and getting there had been seriously hairy.

Session 2 after lunch started much better. 4.7 perfection for the first hour resulted in plenty more "I love windsurfing" moments helped by the really nice Exocet X-Wave 73. Then the photoshoot began and predictably the conditions worsened with wind and waves both dropping so that doing anything remotely impressive in front of the camera became a real struggle. Very frustrating as I had been really hoping for some decent shots. Ho hum still a very good day and absolutely knackering as well with 5-6 hours of constant board changing and photoshoot shenanigans.
